Thank you all for the valuable advise. I am still thinking on biting a bullet and getting a Nav 5 or 6. Some areas which I travel may not have good phone reception, and that's a big deal for me.
However, I'm a bit confused and I hope that someone can shed some light on this pre-installed cradle, i.e. is it ready for a simple snap-in installation on BMW Motorrad Nav 5 or 6?
I see that the most Nav units are being sold with a cradle, which also has 4 buttons on the left side and USB on the right.
Is this optional replacement or an add on? Thanks in advance

So little update on the 2021 F900R I got back in October.  ~ 1850 miles on it now and it seems like the cold starting issue for me is going away.  Haven't noticed it in the last few weeks.  Will start to keep tabs on it to see if its consistent.

I use an all weather lube. Living in the UK you never know what weather your going to get. This one work fine for me

I recently installed a hepco & becker rear mini rack on my f900xr with the intent on putting a top box on it.  I found out that the rack has a load limit of 5kgs after installation (these are not shown in their website by the way). The top box already weighs 6.5 kgs empty so total weight could reach 12 kgs easily.  The rig itself looks sturdy enough but am concerned either it will give way or for the bike to be “rear” heavy.

Anyone else has the had the same situation? How is it so far?

It's a personal choice, I have been using Du Pont Chain-Saver Wax-based Chain Lube with Teflon

Hello,

I try to remove the central grey part (with the 4 screw 2 on the front and 2 under the seat) but it didnít move.
Iím threatened of break some part of plastic, is there a specific way to remove the grey part. It seems to be linked with the fuel tank.
Iíve also removed the six screw from the fuel cap but with no success.
Is there any additional information which might help me?

Thanks

The panel is held in place with about 6 clips. You can remove the grey plastic piece with a quick pull on one side or the other. Just be sure you donít flex the piece too much. It will come off without breaking. I just did this the other day.

It's got nothing to do with the lights, that is all built in to the headlight unit (I've got the same).  Take off the lower deflector so you can get a better look, seriously, it's only 3 screws.  The plug is not fixed, it's just a wire connector,,, with wires.  You may very well be looking at the plug itself.
