F900 Series Main Chat / Re: Seats - standard, low and low slung

Seat is now for sale in this forums classifieds
2
I recently bought my 900XR and it came with this custom seat from cmseats. It is their blade runner style with gel insert for the rider. It is really comfortable and I think looks the business with the gold piping.
Unfortunately it has been lowered and is too low for me - Im 61 with 31 inside leg and my knees are a bit too bent
The seat has done less than 100 dry miles.

To have a standard seat customised costs 245, I am looking for 145 plus your standard seat. I am based in Kent, UK although I am in Leicestershire over the weekend of 2/3 July. It would be good if we could meet up and do a handover otherwise we can courier.

Cheers

Jack

F900 Series Main Chat / Test ride
« Last post by Skinneroo on Yesterday at 06:45:11 PM »
Had a test ride on the 900 this morning, I took the bike out for an hour and was impressed.
I placed an order and left my r1200rs as part exchange.
Here are my thoughts on the xr compared to the rs.

Firstly, I made an arse of myself by repeatedly pressing the centre ignition button (keyless), to start the bike, instead of pressing the start button on the handlebar.
The salesman said that I wasn't the only one who had done this, hmmm!

Setting off down the road, I was surprised at how nimble it was compared to the rs, I loved the flick ability, which I thought might manifest as  instability when on the motorway, I needn't have worried as it tracked straight and true.
Handling xr 1 rs 0

Clocks, what a revelation. So clear and tonnes of information.
I always found the dash of the rs, cluttered and hard to read.

Quick shifter, about the same as the rs.
Not perfect but adequate.

Brakes, fronts good and strong but spoilt by fork dive, rear, not as good as the rs.

Seat, better shape than the rs, but so hard.

Engine, felt underpowered initially, I had to explore the upper reaches of the rev range for the xr to come alive.

To sum up
Really impressed, can't wait to get it

Ps. Back to chain drive, yuk

Everyone there calls I'm Wiggy Dave because of his syrup.!
He's a great lad, just bought himself a new Ducati!
Probably out of all my recommendations, please tell Wiggy I was asking after him.
