Check the plug at the clutch lever switch. When I had my handlebars off to check the steering head bearing preload, I must have tugged on wires just a bit and dislodged it. The result was what you guys are describing, completely erratic CC operation. The plug looked good, but when I actually checked it, it was slightly unplugged, backed out maybe 2mm-3mm, and I guess the vibration of riding made it erratic. It doesn't take much to unplug it and it looks like it's designed to pull out if yanked on. If that's it, then you might want to pull a little more slack into the cable so that it's not getting pulled on when the bars go full lock.
