    Helmet

Greetings from Canada  :190:! Looking to replace my aging Arai RX-Q. Been looking at the HJC RPHA 70 ST both carbon and non-carbon along with the Shoei RF1400 and the Scorpion EXO1400. Tons of reviews online but I'd appreciate any real-world experience and opinions.

    Thanks!

Try them on and buy the one with the best fit is my only advice on helmets.

I have a Shoei head so that is what I wear, I did try a HJC RPHA70 carbon and it was beautiful but even after playing with the padding it was not a perfect fit, and that screwed on visor latch is a bad idea.
My visor's kept cracking from the screw holes. After 3 visor's from the bike shop they sent the helmet back for inspection, returned with no faults found. I washed all the padding and sold it on eBay for 1/4 of it's new price, at that point I just wanted it out of my life and bought a GT-Air 2 which is as perfect as you would expect from Shoei.

I have an Arai Chaser X and before that I was a fan of AGV.
But after changing to Arai it was a completely new experience of comfort and craftmanship.
Although Arai’s design is not my thing, I like more the Icon and AGV aesthetically,
    I sacrificed looks for comfort.
So my experience and head shape lead me to Arai and I think I am staying there for now.
Arai Profile V was also a contender for me, but I chose the Chaser X model because I liked the graphics a bit more.
But in the end it all depends on personal preference and taste…!

I have a Shoie head as well. All their helmets fit me well. I currently have the GT Air 2 and love it. I can wear it for hours with no discomfort and it has not loosened up over 1 and half riding seasons. I would try as many as you can before buying.

Try the Scorpion helmets, I've had the ADX-1 for over a year now and nothing has fallen off or broken, having worn Schuberth and Shoei's in the past I wasn't expecting much from a lid a 1/3 of the price but I'm amazed how good it's been.
    Give one a try  :001:

Sorry to hear of your crap experience with the HJC. That sucks. Thanks for the reply.  :763:

Thanks all. Problem here is there’s no reliable retailer of decent helmets. Mostly carry cheap crap. Guess I’ll be checking return policies for online retailers and keeping Fedex busy.  :006:
