wow, that's going to make putting the footpeg on tricky.

Just shows you how much further back the pegs are on the 900r

Yes - it’s one of the reasons I went for the XR - I have a knee problem - previously had an 1100sS and the rear-set approach was a killer on longer rides for me.

I have seen a YouTube clip showing someone fit some Puig footrests on an XR and the gear shift is there. Just interested to hear from anyone on the forum who’d fitted some on an XR.

It's much easier than it looks.  Pop the clips and remove the shiftrod/qs and then flip the lever up and to the back, easy access.

I wondered if taking the gear shift lever was the most straightforward approach on the XR - because the BMW pegs are ‘generic’ across a few models, the instructions don’t mention that.

Taking the lever off is a little tricky, but moving it out of the way is simple.

I note that you have an adjustable SW Motech gear lever - did you do the pegs when the gear lever was changed?
    Thanks.

Pegs were a few weeks before the lever.  I installed them exactly how i suggested above.  Just flip the lever out of the way
