Seats - standard, low and low slung
on: June 09, 2021, 05:29:09 PM
The rider's manual shows three different heights for the rider's seat - standard 825mm, low 795mm and low slung 775mm.
Are they three different seats or is there any other adjutment?

On my BMW RT I can raise lower by repositioning a mounting bracket, on my previous Ducati Multistrada I had to buy a different fixing for £50

My XR came with a custom seat and my knees are too bent so I would like to have the seat a bit higher.

Many thanks
Jack

The only way to change the seat height is with a new seat or by reshaping yours, the mount is fixed.  The seats listed as available all have different padding heights.

Thanks rcb, I couldn't see any obvious way to change it so thanks for confirming the difference is the padding height.
I know the firm that customised the seat so I will talk to them first and see what they can do for me. Its a shame as I think the seat looks great.

Use the tab that says "Upload images" and they you need to create a new acct because it's a different service.  Luckily you can use your same username and pw to keep it simple.  Normally I don't reuse credentials but I'm not worried about this being compromised.

The card under the seat is cmseats.co.uk
I know nothing about them but it looks well made and is comfortable, just a bit too low for me - 6í1 with 31Ē inside leg - legs a bit too bent at the knee.

Not yet, I need to talk to the seat people to see whether they can adapt what Iíve got or if they need to start from scratch and then decide what to do. Iíll let you know if I put it up for sale.
