Bar risers
on: April 12, 2021, 06:20:15 PM
Hi,
Has anyone got bar risers on their f900r and still have the gps Mount in place?
I was wondering if the cables all still stretch ok and if the gps raised by the risers obstructs the view of the tft?

Yes, no, kinda??  I have removed the actual Nav cradle, but left the base bar in place that the cradle clamps onto.  I have a Quadlock charging base mounted to that bar for my phone and spliced it into the power supply that was intended for the Nav unit.  This setup retains the vibration damping provided by the stock mount and the the base bar is standard size (either 10mm or 12mm, I don't remember) allowing many accessories to fit seamlessly.  The specific Quadlock mount I'm using was intended for a mirror mount, but it's really just a round clamp that covers 10/12/14/16 mm bar sizes.
I am also running 20mm bar risers.  The wiring has plenty of length in it for any of the risers I've seen people using.  My phone is in the same place a Nav unit would be and it does not obstruct my view of the TFT at all.
