Power Source for front and rear cameras

I am about to start installing my front and rear camera setup on the bike and have a simple? question.
The control unit and power supply will be under the seat, does anybody know of a switched power supply point under the seat or would I be best to run a lead from the GPS supply connector up by the dash board. The camera set I am using is made by Blueskysea, a Chinese company and has previously worked well on my Tiger.

If the switched power is just a trigger wire and it still uses a main lead to the battery then you can probably get away with drawing power from the tail light. This is common with many camera systems so that when the bike turns off unexpectedly the unit can still 'finish' the recording so you don't loose the last file.
In my case, I'm running an ezCAN and I have allocated one of the leads for accessories. I have an Innovv K2 that is wired like I mentioned above. The switched lead is triggered by the ezCAN and but the device still has a direct battery lead. The unit is told to shut down when the bike turns off, but it still has power to finish the recording and save it.

Thanks for the response.
Mine does work the same as your with a switched live to proide the trigger for the permanemt live side. I will have a look at the brake ight and see how easy access is going to be.

In anycase it may be wise to buy a 15 euro fuseblock (4 outputs) with triggered input for accesories like this....

If all you want is a fuse block then yes, but the ezCAN is so much more powerful than a fuse block. It depends on what electrical upgrades you have planned.

I am going with the Denali CANsmart option for lights, USB for mobile and GPS. May add the cameras too if Spanish law allows...

Same thing, HEX just brands the Denali version for them, but they are completely identical. My suggestion is to buy whichever has a better sale price

It's in a pretty stupid place and means running cables along side frame. Prefer an under seat option (better protected form weather and dirt) and leave the bmw din socket for air compresor or other occasional use.

I have finished setting up my cameras and thought I had it cracked. I used the power source from the satnav at the front of the bike to connect to the trigger feed as I had already accessed that for the satnav.
However I have found a problem. Everything works as expected untill I hit the starter button and then the bike shuts off the power to the satnav feed briefly while the engine is starting. This seems to confuse the camera control unit as it gets a power off and then a power on a scond or so after. The result is that the unti locks up and needs resetting! Not good.
My next step will be to try taking a feed from the tail light feed and see if that is more stable at start up. Anybody know which colour wire is the power feed to the tail light?
