Thank you very much for your help guys! :762: :763:

I will order the connectors. Once installed I will take some pics to document it, specially the connector under the seat that isn't published here.

    Regards, Lu.

    Hi guys,

Sorry for my late reply. I been waiting for the bike more than expected.

First of all, connector in the front of the bike located with out any problem.

Connector 1718555-1 under tool kit not found. I've only found the canbus connector as somebody mentioned:

However i've found another unused connector. Neither is 1718555-1. Is located just in back side of the battery, under the structual crossbar:

The connector is different from the other one:

Any idea where 1718555-1 is hidden?

Meanwhile i've installed a provisional connector from the DIN plug to power the GPS tracker:

    Thanks in advance!  :062:

Hi all, looking for a bit of help, I purchased the SatNav preparation and the cradle, all from BMW Europe as the lead times were better. I used the connector on page 2 of this chat, the one down to the right of the forks, the cradle gets the power and I can pair it to the phone but the wonder wheel / Menu Rocker switch don't work as it looks like the bike is not picking up the preparation / cradle as a connection. Anyone else had this.

I was assuming all the wiring looms are ready for the SatNav so connecting it up should be all that's needed. I don't see anything to "enable" the satnav preparation on the bike. Is it a duff unit?

    Any help would be appreciated.

Afaik, the cradle has to be activated by a dealer.

If you bought the cradle online, you might have to pay for the activation at a local dealer. I heard that they take a sum of around 50 Euro.

I have called the dealer today, you are right...and of course how did I not assume BMW wouldn't miss an opportunity to make something out of this.

I don't know how much it is but its booked in for a software update. Apparently these updates can take 5 hours but also 20mins!!!

    Thanks for the update
