    European Tail Light Adapter Conversion

Has anyone here ever converted the tail light adapter on a U.S. model 900 XR to a European version?   I have SW Motech side case mounts that partially mount on the tail light of a European model but have a bike sold in the U.S.

Thanks in advance for any advice/assistance.

Damn, never noticed that they are different before, and now I have to replace them, thanks!

I would bet they are plug and play.

I've got some coming from Germany next week so hopefully they will be "plug and play" like you mentioned.  I will pass on what I learn.

It should be a direct swap.  There was an issue with the tail tidy from Evotech on the US version and they now include the Euro style light as a direct swap.

Thank you for the information but I don't understand your explanation because I don't know who/what Evotech is, and there wasn't an adapter included with the mounts I got.  I do have someone bringing a German tail light assembly on a visit to the states so hopefully that will be what's needed.   If there is something else you can add, please do so.

    Thanks!

Although the European tail light adapter can be switched with the U.S. adapter, that didn't work for me to install the SW Motech luggage mounts because the Euro adapter won't fit the U.S. tail light.   I suppose that I could have tried to get the matching tail light but I gave up and made a bracket to mount the SW Motech piece on my U.S. tail light.   So far, it's working fine, and after fabrication from an aluminum plate with the proper holes drilled, easy to install and practically free.  YMMV.
