Does anyone know on how to replace rubber inserts on footpegs? Mine have started to tear off on the left side, I bought a pair at my dealer, but I am not sure on how to replace - there seem no screws or anything similar. Is there any trick there? Thanks!

Haven't checked myself but according to this exploded view they are riveted from below.

    15 are the rivets 3.2 x 10
14 is a "Halteblech" for lack of a better term (in my knowledge of the English language. I see you are from Switzerland. I think you know what it means)
    17 is the rubber part

You need to drill the heads of the rivets with a drill size 3.2mm maybe you can get away with a size 3.0mm. after that the rubber should come right off.

Thanks a lot for reply! Yes, already figured it out myself - it is riveted, so drilling and then rivet again... Or just drop this idea and buy new footpegs from SW Motech or similar  :001:

Is also a possibly! Did you do that in the end?
I'm thinking of getting the BMW sport footpegs for my R as they are adjustable. But I can find anywhere if the lowest setting is lower then the stock pegs...

Yes, they are a bit lower. The upper hole is where the standard pegs are.

Thank you, good to know! How noticeable is it that they are wider? Controls still easy to operate?

I had some adaptation period, but no issues now.

I got those pegs for my XR cos I had my left knee replaced so didn’t have quite the same bend in my knee and needed lower pegs - there was another forum member who’d opted for them. I think they’re a nice set of footrests - noted when I bought them that they’re for a few Beemers inc S1000. I did get the gear lever extender as well cos I didn’t have quite the same fine leg/foot movement.
