I want to do some electrical work to my bike. I'm wondering if you unhook the battery are there any issues? Does it automatically rest to factory settings?  Thanks

Yep - as above. I asked this question as on my F800GT if you disconnected the battery you reset the service interval clock which meant error messages and an expensive trip to your dealership to get everything reset. However on the XR disconnect and reconnect with no issues.
